Bahrain's Youthful Population: Over 60% Under 35 Years Old

A detailed demographic breakdown of Bahrain's population reveals a youthful nation, with over two-thirds of Bahrainis under the age of 35. The statistics, released for the first half of 2024, highlight the significant role young people play in the country's future.
The data shows that a remarkable 33.1% of Bahrainis, or approximately 245,102 individuals, fall within the 15-35 age group, considered the youth demographic. This figure, combined with the 28% of Bahrainis under 15 years old, brings the total number of those under 35 to 452,625, representing a significant 62% of the total Bahraini population.
This demographic trend underscores the vibrancy and potential of Bahraini society. The youth population, with its energy and dynamism, is poised to shape the country's future.
Interestingly, the statistics also reveal a slight numerical advantage for young women, with 126,024 females in the 15-35 age group compared to 119,078 males. This trend continues among children and adolescents under 15, with 101,687 females compared to 105,836 males.
The data also shows that the 35-60 age group comprises 205,587 Bahrainis, with a near-equal split between men and women. The senior citizen population, those over 60 years old, stands at 81,524, representing 11% of the total Bahraini population.
