The Northern Link Road, connecting Salman City with Seef, is about to begin its first phase, aiming to ease congestion for 12,000 residents and address traffic issues in the area. Northern Municipal Council member Basim Abu Idrees stated that the Council’s Secretariat has written to the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, requesting updates on the project.
The road, which runs from Salman City in the Northern Governorate to Seef in the Capital Governorate, is still in the early stages, according to the Ministry of Works, with further information to follow as the work advances. Abu Idrees added that the timeline is dependent on completing the design phase and tendering process.
Once these steps are finalised, a contractor will be appointed to begin construction.
He also noted that the development of the Northern Coastal Road would be beneficial for Salman City residents, reducing congestion on Budaiya Highway and improving traffic flow in the Green Belt and nearby villages.
