HM King appoints key official at Interior Ministry

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued a series of royal decrees, further restructuring the Ministry of Interior and appointing key officials. Decree (81) of 2024 amends provisions of Decree (69) of 2004 on reorganising the Ministry of Interior, following the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Cabinet’s approval.

Under Article I of Decree (81), a new clause, numbered (4), has been added to Paragraph (First) of Article I of the original decree. The newly introduced clause establishes the position of Undersecretary for Legislative Authority Affairs at the Ministry of Interior.

The Minister of Interior is tasked with implementing this decree, which is effective immediately and to be published in the Official Gazette.

In a related development, His Majesty also issued Decree (82) of 2024, appointing Rashid Mohammed Bounajma as Undersecretary for Legislative Authority Affairs at the Ministry of Interior.

This decision, based on the Minister of Interior’s recommendation, takes effect upon its issuance and will also be published in the Official Gazette.

Additionally, HM King Hamad issued Decree (83) of 2024, appointing Mohamed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain as Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives, with the rank of Undersecretary.

This decree, issued in coordination with the Deputy Prime Minister and the Cabinet, is also effective immediately.
