The Ministry of Labour confirmed on Wednesday that employees of a private hospital, which reduced its operations in August, have received their wages. Salaries for July and August were disbursed, with the remaining payment for September expected by the end of the month.

The hospital, employing approximately 190 staff, including 50 Bahrainis, cut back major services after encountering financial troubles, leaving workers unpaid for two months. Around 30 specialities, such as general surgery and obstetrics, were affected when the hospital shifted to outpatient care in late August.

In its statement, the Ministry confirmed that ‘all outstanding wages will be settled in line with Bahrain’s labour laws.’

The Ministry also noted efforts to find alternative employment for the affected Bahraini workers. ‘Those still without work will receive compensation of 60 per cent of their insured wage for up to nine months, or until they secure new employment,’ the ministry stated.
