Three prominent contracting firms are competing for a prestigious project to restore and redevelop parts of Muharraq’s Old City, a heritage site steeped in Bahrain’s cultural history, according to the Tender Board's announcement yesterday. Bokhowa Contracting and Trading Group submitted the lowest bid of BD909,000, while Mohammed Saif Ajlan Al Mannai Contracting and Almoayyed Contracting offered BD1.5 million and BD2.03 million, respectively.
The contract, commissioned by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, is not just about basic construction; it demands the careful restoration of heritage buildings, the creation of a visitor center, and the development of three model homes, all with a deep reverence for the city's historical legacy.
