The Indian Embassy in Bahrain held an Open House event yesterday, chaired by Ambassador Vinod Kurian Jacob.

The gathering, attended by approximately 50 Indian nationals, featured the Embassy’s Community Welfare and Consular teams, along with their panel of lawyers.

Ambassador Jacob extended greetings to the attendees on the occasion of Onam. He also issued a warning to the Indian community, urging them to be cautious of fraudulent calls impersonating the Embassy’s 24x7 helpline number, 39418071.

The Ambassador clarified that Embassy officials do not make unsolicited calls from this number and warned against sharing personal information or transferring money in response to such scams.

During the event, Ambassador Jacob expressed his appreciation to His Majesty the King, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and Bahraini authorities for the release of 16 Indian prisoners under the Royal Pardon on 4th September 2024.

This brings the total number of Indian nationals pardoned this year to 126.

Successful Mission Interventions Highlighted Cases in August The attendees were also briefed on several successful cases handled by the Embassy in August.

These included the repatriation of a stranded family who had sought assistance at a previous Open House, the return of an Indian national suffering from tuberculosis who had been unable to travel for an extended period, and the long-awaited return of another individual who had been stranded in Bahrain for over 25 years.
