The Bahrain Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (BCICAI) hosted a conference of great significance focusing on Digital Transformation at Gulf Convention Centre, highlighting its profound impact on the financial sector and beyond.

The event was inaugurated by His Excellency Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Auditor-General, National Audit Office, Kingdom of Bahrain, alongside H. E. Mr. Vinod K. Jacob, Ambassador of India to Bahrain, as Guest of Honour.

The conference was organized with key knowledge partners, including the Bahrain Internal Auditors Association (BIAA) and the Bahrain Local Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).

With over 450 members, Bahrain Chapter of ICAI has become a crucial professional body in Bahrain, contributing to key decision-making across various industries and consulting organizations.

Emerging technologies

The agenda highlighted Bahrain’s digital transformation journey, particularly focusing on how emerging technologies are reshaping the financial landscape.

The panel, hosted by CA Vivek Gupta, Chairperson of Bahrain Chapter of ICAI, featured an engaging discussion with notable experts Mr. Fawaz Ghazal, CEO of FLOOSS Bahrain BSC (Closed), and Mr. Mahmood Jassim Shaker, Regional Director, Government and Public Sector, Gulf Region and Saudi Arabia, Dell Technologies, who provided valuable insights into the ongoing transformations within the industry.

A strategy sessions was conducted by CA Nishith Seth, Director of SSPL Middle East, and introductory session by Mr. Seby Cyriac, Director of Cube Innovators Technologies LLC.

Key topics including Data Analytics, Open Banking and APIs, Cloud Banking, Sustainable Finance, and RegTech were explored.

Economic landscape

Their discussions underscored the ultimate significance of digital strategies in not just transforming financial institutions, but also enhancing the broader economic landscape in Bahrain and the Gulf region.

The event was attended by more than 200+ professionals of various organisations.
