Saudi Arabia has unveiled a monthly financial grant aimed at alleviating the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.
This initiative is intended to address the deteriorating conditions in Gaza and its surrounding areas, which have been severely affected by the Israeli occupation and its violations of international laws, including humanitarian laws.
This support is part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. It reflects their unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive assistance to the Palestinian people and supporting the State of Palestine.
In reaffirming its position, Saudi Arabia emphasized the critical role played by its leadership in engaging the international community to halt the violence, protect civilians, and increase humanitarian aid to Palestinians.
The Kingdom underscored its dedication to ensuring a just and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian issue, advocating for the recognition of all legitimate Palestinian rights, including the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Kingdom reiterated that the Palestinian cause remains a top priority for Saudi Arabia, which continues to work towards alleviating the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza. Since the onset of the crisis, Saudi Arabia has led diplomatic efforts, particularly through a ministerial committee formed during the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit, to mobilize Arab and Islamic unity in support of Palestine.
As a result of these efforts, several nations have recognized the State of Palestine and called for its full membership in the United Nations. They have also urged an end to Israeli aggression and the blockade on Gaza.
Saudi Arabia’s support to Palestine has surpassed $5.3 billion over the years, covering humanitarian, relief, and development projects, reaffirming the Kingdom’s longstanding commitment to aiding the Palestinian people, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
