His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, emphasized that the Kingdom of Bahrain, in line with the noble vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, believes that peace is the best strategic option for resolving conflicts and settling disputes through dialogue and political solutions.

This approach is especially significant regarding the Palestinian issue, which has persisted for over seven decades, depriving the Palestinian people of their legitimate human rights.

This statement was made during Bahrain's address, delivered by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the Third Summit of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue held in Doha today, under the chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar.

The Minister noted that the tragic situation in Gaza underscores the urgent need for a just, comprehensive, and sustainable peace in the Middle East.

This was also emphasized at the Bahrain Summit held last May, which called for an international peace conference to establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The summit also called for the immediate cessation of the war on Gaza, protection of civilians, release of hostages and detainees, and facilitation of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, who are deprived of basic life necessities.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that the continuation of the war in Gaza has extended to Lebanon, and efforts must be made to prevent its spread to neighboring countries, as this threatens regional security and stability and poses risks to international peace and security.

He further noted that the current conflicts and sharp disputes, along with the significant political, economic, social, and environmental challenges, are hindering comprehensive development.

These issues call for concerted efforts to enhance cooperation among Asian nations to strengthen partnerships, build a brighter future for their countries and peoples, and achieve the desired peace, stability, and prosperity.
