The Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, has begun processing housing service applications for individuals included in the royal pardon and beneficiaries of alternative penalties. This initiative follows the recent royal pardon granted to several inmates, with the approval of the Cabinet led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The goal is to ensure these individuals can access housing services by the relevant regulations and laws.

The General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing at the Ministry of Interior confirmed that it is preparing a list of those eligible under the royal pardon and alternative penalties for submission to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning. This step will allow for an evaluation of their eligibility based on set criteria, enabling them to receive housing services where applicable. Additionally, mechanisms have been put in place to accommodate various categories, aiming to extend the benefits of housing services to as many individuals as possible.

The directorate also announced that all necessary procedures for the beneficiaries have been completed, and non-objection certificates have been issued, allowing them to take advantage of the designated services.
