Bahrain commits to modernising medical practices

The Kingdom remains steadfast in enhancing its medical sector, ensuring adherence to global best practices and modern scientific expertise. This commitment was reiterated by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, during a meeting with Professor Cathal Kelly, Vice Chancellor and CEO/Registrar of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dublin (RCSI), at Gudaibiya Palace.

HRH Prince Salman emphasized the significance of investing in the education of Bahraini citizens, aligning with the Kingdom’s comprehensive development goals under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Advancing Medical Education

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted the pivotal role that the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain has played in advancing higher medical education over the past two decades. He noted that the institution has been instrumental in training and preparing medical professionals to meet the needs of the Kingdom's healthcare sector.

His Royal Highness expressed his best wishes for RCSI’s continued success in its educational endeavors, which contribute to Bahrain’s overall development.

Acknowledgment

Professor Kelly and the RCSI delegation expressed their gratitude for HRH Prince Salman’s unwavering support of Bahrain’s medical sector, both in terms of education and practical development.

Also attending the meeting were His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), His Excellency Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, and several senior officials.
