Indian Club Onam Festival a big hit

The Onam Festival 2024 reaches its peak at The Indian Club - Bahrain. On the fourth day of the festival, held on October 3, the atmosphere was electrified by the captivating performance of renowned playback singer and folk specialist Mrs. Praseetha Chalakudy, who presented traditional Nadan Pattukal (folk songs).
The Club’s premises were filled to capacity with enthusiastic music lovers, who were swept into the festive spirit by the dynamic performances, including those from Sahridaya Payyanur Bahrain.
As part of the festivities, the fifth day, October 4, featured a Ghoshayatra Competition, showcasing creativity and team spirit.
Five teams participated in the competition, with Our Clicks winning the first prize, followed by Shrestha in second place and Voice of Trivandrum taking home the third prize.
Awards Individual awards included Best Float and Best Mahaweli for Our Clicks, while Best Character was awarded to Shrestha, Best Performer went to Voice of Trivandrum, and Best Theme was also claimed by Our Clicks A Special Jury Award was presented to Our Clicks for their outstanding contribution.
The festival will culminate with the Onasadhya (traditional Onam feast) on October 11, 2024.
This grand feast will serve over 2,500 guests, featuring 30 delectable dishes prepared by celebrity sadhya specialist Mr. Jayan Sukumara Pillai, all served on traditional banana leaves.
The President and Executive Committee of the Indian Club expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors, with special acknowledgment to the major sponsors: Megamart, African Eastern, BQ Fresh, Mrs. Naina Mohammed, and First & Best Constructions, for their support in making the festival a resounding success.
