Parliament prepares for new session opening

The Parliament is gearing up for the opening of the third annual session of the sixth legislative term, scheduled for Sunday, October 13, 2024.
This follows Royal Order No. (38) of 2024, convening both the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives.
Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives, chaired a preparatory committee meeting on Monday at the Isa Cultural Centre to oversee arrangements for the opening ceremony.
The meeting was attended by Karima Mohammed Al Abassi, Secretary General of the Shura Council; Mohammed Shikhan, Deputy Head of Royal Ceremonies; and other senior officials and representatives from relevant government bodies.
Al Buainain highlighted the comprehensive development underway in Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Royal support He praised the royal support for parliamentary work and the achievements of the reform project.
He also emphasised the effective cooperation between the executive and legislative branches in serving the nation and its citizens.
The committee meeting focused on logistical, technical, and media preparations for the opening ceremony, including the distribution of tasks and roles among participating entities.
Relevant institutions Al Buainain confirmed that all relevant institutions are fully prepared.
He expressed his gratitude to the team responsible for organising the event, commending their efforts to ensure a successful opening.
The meeting ensured that the ceremony will reflect the importance and significance of this national parliamentary event.
