MP Khalid Bouanq, along with several other lawmakers, has submitted a comprehensive proposal aimed at safeguarding the cultural heritage of the Gulf region. The initiative seeks to launch various programs to preserve the shared identity that unites the people of the Gulf, emphasizing the need to pass this cultural legacy onto future generations.

A key aspect of the proposal is the revival of traditional Gulf attire, which is seen as a strong symbol of national identity. MP Bouanq advocates for encouraging the wearing of traditional clothing in workplaces, formal events, and even informal gatherings, as a way to instill pride and promote national unity. By incorporating national dress into everyday life, the proposal aims to strengthen the connection between the people and their rich heritage, while also celebrating the region's cultural uniqueness.

The initiative also focuses on educational reforms, recommending the integration of Gulf history, ancient civilizations, and heritage into school curricula at all levels. This, according to the proposal’s memorandum, would foster a deeper sense of belonging and loyalty to the homeland among younger generations.

In addition to educational measures, the proposal highlights the use of media channels to promote Gulf culture and values. Television and radio programs spotlighting aspects of Gulf life—such as generosity, hospitality, and tolerance—are suggested as powerful tools to raise awareness about the region’s cultural richness. The proposal also encourages the production of films and television series that reflect Gulf identity and the beauty of its traditions.

Furthermore, the memorandum calls for greater engagement through social media platforms, proposing campaigns that disseminate historical and cultural content to a wider audience, especially the youth. Special festivals and celebrations that showcase traditional Gulf customs and attire are also recommended to help unify the region’s people under their shared cultural banner.

With an emphasis on traditional attire and heritage, MP Bouanq’s initiative seeks to solidify Gulf identity while fostering unity and pride in a rapidly modernizing world.
