The High Criminal Appeals Court will announce its verdict on October 28th in the appeal filed by a 30-year-old man sentenced to five years imprisonment and a 3,000 dinar fine. The man was convicted of providing manufactured hashish to a minor, inducing the child to use the drug, and endangering the child's well-being through acts of moral corruption.  The court heard the appeal on October 13th.

The case centers around the testimony of the victim's mother, who discovered her son in an altered state, suspecting drug use. She took him to Salmaniya Medical Complex, where he revealed he had been with the defendant and three others in a vehicle.

He claimed they forced him to use an e-cigarette containing CBD, and gave him Larica, hashish, and shabu (methamphetamine).  The mother, however, was skeptical, aware of her son's past experimentation with drugs.

She stated that she didn't believe her son was forced, but that the defendant facilitated and encouraged his drug use.  She subsequently found a video on her son's phone, without his knowledge, showing the defendant placing a narcotic substance into an e-cigarette.

The video was recorded by the victim himself. She also discovered a Snapchat conversation between the defendant and her son, where the defendant asked if he wanted to smoke hashish.

The Public Prosecution stated that the 15-year-old victim confessed to beginning drug use due to the defendant.  "In early 2024 I met him, and he offered me an e-cigarette containing a narcotic substance," he told prosecutors, adding:  "Our relationship developed, and I regularly used drugs with him. He provided the e-cigarette and introduced me to shabu."

On the day the mother discovered the situation, the child was heavily under the influence of shabu.  The video provided by the mother shows the defendant with the e-cigarette, adding a liquid substance using a needle.

The victim confirmed he filmed the video and that the defendant added the narcotic CBD.  The child's urine test confirmed the presence of methamphetamine, manufactured hashish, and pregabalin. The defendant's record shows a prior conviction for drug use.  The appeals court will now issue its final decision on October 28th.
