Bahrain to Host Largest Student Olympiad in the Middle East

Bahrain is set to host one of the largest educational competitions in the Middle East—Vedhik Pentathlon 2024. Organized by Vedhik Al Schools in partnership with Santamonica Study Abroad, LearningEngines, Bobsco Edu, and PECA International, the Olympiad will take place on November 2, 2024, at Adhari Park, Manama, bringing together over 5,000 students from schools across the country.
The event marks a significant moment for education in Bahrain, where students from grades 6 to 12 will compete across five subject-specific Olympiads, testing their knowledge and abilities in various disciplines.
This record-breaking competition will serve as a platform for students to demonstrate their competencies, all while fostering an environment of academic excellence and friendly competition.
Dr. Maryam Al Dhaen, Member of Parliament, underscored the importance of the event in assessing student abilities through competition. "Competitions like these allow us to assess the competencies of students at various levels.
It not only highlights their abilities but also provides insights into their future potential. As a parliamentarian, I advocate for educational initiatives, as they are fundamental to our future," she remarked.

The international Olympiads not only showcase student talent but also reinforce the importance of partnerships like those with Vedhik Al Schools in driving educational progress."
The Vedhik Pentathlon will feature five Olympiads covering different subjects, all held simultaneously. James Mattam, CEO and Co-Founder of Vedhik Group of Educational Institutions, emphasized the transformative nature of the event, saying, "Pentathlon 2024 is more than just a competition; it’s a platform for students from various backgrounds to learn, grow, and push their potential to new heights in an environment of healthy competition."
Boban Thomas, Founder and CMD of Bobsco Holding WLL, highlighted the international scope of the Olympiad, saying, "This event strengthens Bahrain’s position as a leader in education.
The collaboration with Vedhik Al Schools and the introduction of international Olympiads in Bahrain will attract bright minds and inspire innovation."
Participants in the Vedhik Pentathlon 2024 will be divided into three categories based on their grade levels: Category One for students in classes 6 and 7, Category Two for those in classes 8 and 9, and Category Three for students in classes 10 to 12.
The competition will feature five subject-specific Olympiads, each designed to test and enhance students' knowledge and skills. These include the English , Mathematics, Science, Environmental science, General Knowledge Olympiads.
Mr. C. M. Junith, CEO of PECA International, expressed excitement for the event, stating, "Vedhik Pentathlon 2024 is set to be the largest Olympiad ever held in this region, with five Olympiads happening simultaneously. It promises to be a fun and challenging experience for all participants."
