The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has intensified its efforts to maintain compliance within the workforce, conducting 1,780 inspection campaigns and visits from October 13 to 19. As a result, 33 illegal and non-compliant workers were apprehended, and 152 violators were deported during this period.

These inspection campaigns uncovered multiple violations, particularly under the Labour Market Regulatory Authority Law and the Residency Law of Bahrain. The LMRA has confirmed that legal actions were swiftly taken to address these violations.

In its report, the LMRA detailed 1,748 inspection visits across various commercial establishments in all governorates. In addition, 32 joint campaigns were conducted, with 18 in the Capital Governorate, six in both Muharraq and the Northern Governorates, and two in the Southern Governorate. These efforts were carried out in collaboration with several government agencies, including the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs, and various governorate security directorates, alongside the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, the General Directorate of Verdict Execution and Alternative Sentences, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority.

The LMRA emphasized its ongoing coordination with government entities to ramp up inspections across Bahrain. These campaigns aim to curb any violations that might negatively affect the stability, competitiveness, and security of the labor market, as well as safeguard the broader economic and social environment in the kingdom.

In a statement, the LMRA called on the public to support the government's efforts to eliminate illegal practices in the labor market and address non-compliant workers. The authority urged citizens to report any violations through the official LMRA website at www.lmra.gov.bh, the national suggestion and complaint system (Tawasul), or by contacting the LMRA Call Center at 17506055.
