8,924 new workers join job market

Bahrain’s job market welcomed 8,924 new workers in 2023, making up 30 per cent of all hires for the year. Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, His Excellency Ghanem bin Fadl Al Buainain, shared these numbers, noting that firsttime workers are now a growing part of the workforce.
Al Buainain pointed out that 70 per cent of last year’s hires were not newcomers, with many moving from one job to another and making the most of new work offers.
The minister spoke in response to a call from MPs asking for clear details on hiring figures. He said the government’s reply was ‘clear and balanced’, addressing the need for open information on new workers.
