Avoid countries mired in conflict or disaster: MP

MP Jalal Kadhem has urged citizens to avoid travelling to countries caught in conflict or disaster, especially where Bahrain has no diplomatic presence. Speaking in parliament yesterday, he warned that visiting such places puts individuals at great risk, particularly during times of crisis or unrest.
“Some citizens are venturing into areas where we have no way of helping them, putting themselves in serious danger,” he said.
MP Kadhem’s warning follows the return of five Bahrainis held in Yemen since August on security grounds.
He commended the Bahraini authorities for their hard work in securing their release, crediting the Ministry of Interior and Yemeni officials for their joint effort.
“The teamwork between Bahrain and Yemeni officials was vital in bringing our citizens home safely,” he noted.
