Russia supports HM King’s initiative for calm and safety in Middle East

Russia has given its backing to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s call for an international peace summit, aimed at strengthening calm and safety in the Middle East. This support was made clear during top-level talks between the two nations, with Russia praising Bahrain’s work to further dialogue and worldwide peace.

The Russian delegation pointed out that, in light of today’s global troubles, working together and sharing efforts are the best ways to ensure safety and steadiness across the world. These talks took place on the sidelines of the 45th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), held from 17-23 October.

The meeting between Bahrain’s parliamentary group, led by MP Ahmed Qarata, the Second Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, and Talal Mohammed Al Mannai, a member of the Shura Council, and their Russian counterparts, led by Sholban Kara-ool, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma, and Hamzaev Besoltan Sultanbievich, a member of the Duma, focused on ways to strengthen ties.

Both sides looked into how to grow the link between Bahrain and Russia. Talks covered how to work more closely in lawmaking and diplomacy, as well as sharing know-how in rule-making and legal matters. They also spoke about shared concerns in the region and the world, with special note taken of Russia’s part in keeping peace and steadiness in the area. Bahrain’s group spoke of their wish to build stronger business and trade links with Russia, pointing out that fields such as energy, investing, teaching, and healthcare hold great chances for working together.

Growing teamwork 

The Russian group, in turn, spoke warmly of the growing teamwork between the two nations, praising Bahrain’s work in keeping peace and steadiness in the region. “Russia holds Bahrain’s role in keeping the region safe in high regard and looks forward to growing our partnership further,” said the Russian representatives.
