Seventy-six new homes are set to be completed in the Buhair Housing Project by early 2026, bringing much-needed housing for Southern Governorate residents who have been stuck waiting for far too long. MP Mohammed Al Rifai said the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, alongside the private sector, has agreed to carry out the project through the Government Land Development Rights Scheme.
The aim is to provide more homes and cut down the long wait times that have troubled locals. Al Rifai mentioned the project will spread across 20,000 square metres, with each home covering 220 square metres. He praised the steady progress, saying it shows His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s push to widen the reach of housing efforts across Bahrain.
Backing
He thanked the government for its strong backing of the social housing sector, which has brought many projects to help the people. Al Rifai added that the government’s new way of tackling housing shows its clear will to improve the sector and offer simpler housing answers for the public. This project, one of many now in the works, is set to ease the housing strain on families in the Southern Governorate as it nears completion.
