GCC Government Communication Centres Leaders Gather in Al-Ula

Mr. Ahmed Khaled Al Araifi, CEO of the National Communication Centre, represented Bahrain at the second gathering of leaders from GCC government communication centres held at Maraya Hall in Al-Ula.

This significant event, organized by the Saudi Government Communication Centre, took place under the patronage of His Excellency Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari, Saudi Minister of Media, and saw participation from His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al Maghlouth, Saudi Assistant Minister of Media, along with heads of communication centres from across the GCC.

In his opening remarks, Minister Al-Dosari emphasized the crucial need to enhance media and communication cooperation among GCC nations. He described this second meeting as a milestone towards realizing the positive media transformations envisioned for the region.

Mr. Al Araifi reiterated Bahrain's commitment to strengthening partnerships among GCC government communication centres. He highlighted Bahrain's dedication to launching and supporting collaborative projects and initiatives, as well as establishing frameworks to exchange expertise and best practices in government communication.

During the meeting, Mr. Al Araifi shared Bahrain's successful strategies in developing communication for major international events. He presented the comprehensive approach implemented for the 33rd Arab Summit, hosted by Bahrain last May. This strategy emphasized collaborative efforts with local, regional, and global media organizations, transforming government communication from a one-way information channel into an engaging platform for constructive dialogue with media partners and the public.

The gathering allowed participants to review various agenda items aimed at enhancing communication cooperation among GCC countries. The discussions focused on translating collective goals into actionable programs to support media initiatives. Participants also underscored the importance of collaborative training and knowledge exchange to strengthen joint efforts in government communication across the GCC.

As the meeting concluded, attendees expressed optimism for the future of media collaboration in the region, paving the way for a more unified and effective approach to government communication.
