Bahrain is committed to bolstering partnerships and collaboration among GCC communication centres, as well as the Kingdom’s support for joint projects and initiatives.

This was emphasised by Ahmed Khaled Al Araifi, CEO of the National Communication Centre (NCC), as he participated in the second meeting of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) government communication centre heads at Maraya Hall, Al Ula, Saudi Arabia.

Al Araifi highlighted Bahrain’s dedication to establishing frameworks for the exchange of expertise and best practices in government communication.

He also presented Bahrain’s communication strategy, sharing insights from the 33rd Arab Summit, which the Kingdom hosted in May.

He outlined the collaborative efforts of the NCC with local, regional, and international media partners to create an impactful government narrative.

Dialogue

The strategy aims to humanise government communication, transforming it from a one-way information source to a platform for engaging dialogue with media and the public.

Participants reviewed a range of agenda items related to advancing communication cooperation among the GCC, translating these goals into actionable programmes to support joint media initiatives.

The discussions also underscored the value of collaborative training and the exchange of best practices in government communication, reinforcing efforts across the GCC.

The event, organised by the Saudi Government Communication Centre, took place under the patronage of Salman bin Yousef Al Dosari, the Saudi Minister of Media, with the participation of Dr. Abdullah Al Maghlouth, Saudi Assistant Minister of Media, and other communication centre leaders from the GCC.

The Saudi Minister of Media emphasised the importance of enhancing media and communication cooperation across GCC countries, marking the second meeting as a pivotal step towards achieving regional media advancements.

He also underscored the importance of empowering participants to leverage media tools to create more accurate and impactful content that contributes to a positive image of GCC countries.
