Complaints over CR certificates requirement
MP Khalid Buanq has criticised the Ministry of Housing’s request for applicants to obtain certificates confirming they do not possess a commercial registration. Buanq stated that he has received numerous complaints regarding this requirement.
He noted that obtaining this certificate involves several procedures and a BD10 fee. Buanq highlighted that Bahrain’s electronic interconnectivity allows access to the commercial registry system (“Sajilat”) to verify the absence of a commercial registration using personal information. He argued that this eliminates the need for cumbersome procedures, fees, and visits to government offices to obtain readily available electronic documents. He believes the current process is unnecessarily burdensome for citizens.
