His Excellency Engineer Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, announced the launch of the service to renew building permits before their expiration and extend their validity (for one year) through the "Benayat" electronic system at www.benayat.bh. This initiative is part of the ministry’s efforts to enhance the efficiency of services provided and simplify procedures for investors and concerned parties in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

His Excellency explained that the renewal process will be done through the applicant's engineering office, allowing users to renew their permits easily without the need to visit government offices directly. He noted that this step aims to speed up procedures and reduce the time required to obtain services, supporting the improvement of the investment environment in the kingdom.

He added that the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture is working to provide the necessary support and information to engineering offices to ensure the service is provided efficiently and effectively. He noted that this system reflects the government's commitment to achieving digital transformation across all sectors, making it easier for citizens and investors to manage their transactions effectively. He encouraged all concerned parties to take advantage of this new service, which represents an important step toward enhancing transparency in government procedures.

On his part, Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the Information & eGovernment Authority, praised the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture’s efforts in activating its digital transformation plan and making services available through various electronic channels. He pointed out that this aligns with government directives and implements the decisions of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology, continuing government efforts to enhance the efficiency of electronic services provided to citizens and residents. He emphasized the importance of the partnership between the ministry and the authority, which contributes to strengthening the information infrastructure of the real estate and investment sector in the kingdom.

Al Qaed affirmed that the introduction of the building permit renewal service, after re-engineering the current procedures, has now become a 100% automated electronic service. The service has improved the user interface and experience, while eliminating the need for documents and approvals to extend the building permit’s validity for one year. Additionally, the payment process has been simplified, which positively impacts the real estate sector, property owners, and investors by speeding up and easing the completion of transactions.

The Chief Executive also highlighted that the "Benayat" system is one of the advanced government systems, connected with more than one government and private entity. It benefits engineering offices, property owners, government agencies, private companies, and real estate development firms by allowing them to complete building permit transactions electronically within two days.
