In a significant update on the labour market, the Ministerial Committee for Community Services submitted a memorandum during the weekly Cabinet meeting chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The meeting, held today at Gudaibiya Palace, focused on the labour market indicators for Bahrain up until the third quarter of 2024.

The memorandum highlighted that 19,689 Bahraini citizens benefited from job opportunities in the private sector, successfully achieving 98% of the annual target of 20,000 jobs for Bahrainis as outlined in the Kingdom's Economic Recovery Plan. This achievement reflects the commitment of both the government and the private sector to bolster employment rates among local citizens.

In recognition of these efforts, the Cabinet expressed its gratitude and appreciation to all private sector companies and institutions that played a role in facilitating the employment of Bahrainis during the third quarter. This collaborative effort is a vital component of the Kingdom’s strategy to enhance workforce participation and economic sustainability.

Moreover, the report indicated that 13,679 Bahraini citizens have undergone training programs up to the third quarter of 2024, surpassing the annual target of 10,000 trainings by an impressive 137%. This commitment to training and development is crucial for equipping Bahrainis with the necessary skills to thrive in various sectors.

During the meeting, the Cabinet discussed the memorandum in detail and approved its recommendations, emphasizing the importance of continuing to support local employment initiatives and training programs.
