The Bahrain International Airshow 2024 is expected to generate approximately $70 million in indirect income through the rental of chalets to companies and sponsorships, revealed Yousif Mahmoud, Director General of the Bahrain International Airshow, during a press conference held yesterday at Sakhir Airbase. The conference comes just ahead of the highly anticipated 7th edition of the event, which is scheduled to take place from November 13-15, 2024.
Speaking on the success of the previous shows, Mahmoud noted that the agreement to alternate the airshow between Bahrain and Dubai has been highly beneficial, leading to an increase in the number of participating companies. He added, "Bahrain is a safe and peaceful country, and the political issues in the region have not negatively impacted the airshow’s ability to attract global companies."
Mahmoud expressed confidence that this year’s event would be a success, stating, "We’ve completed organizing the 2024 Airshow, and now we are preparing for the 2026 event."

With an expectation of 50,000 visitors this year, the Bahrain International Airshow will be a major highlight, featuring a variety of attractions, including a family zone created under the directive of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. What’s New at BIAS 2024
This year’s event will feature a significant focus on military products, which have a larger budget allocation compared to civilian products. Mahmoud emphasized the importance of supporting national companies to elevate their presence on the global stage. The event will also feature educational workshops led by global experts from sectors such as space and aviation.
These workshops aim to engage elite university students, expose them to global companies, and attract more women to the aviation industry. Moreover BIAS has invited five thousand students from the schools to attend the event. There will also be a conference on military industries, with a focus on maintaining national security and safety.
Participation and Impact
Delegations from 56 countries will be participating in this year’s airshow, along with 222 official delegates. Mahmoud noted the involvement of 20 government entities in ensuring the success of the event. The companies taking part either already have a presence in Bahrain or are seeking opportunities in the Bahraini market, and efforts are being made to assist them in establishing their operations here. The airshow has already contributed to the establishment of six operational offices for global companies in Bahrain, thanks to the country’s business-friendly environment and incentives.
With 135 companies participating, and 120 aircraft expected to be displayed – including both civilian and military models – the Bahrain International Airshow promises to be a spectacle of innovation and skill. Air displays, featuring individual and joint performances, will take place each day at 1 PM and close to sunset, showcasing the capabilities of various aviation companies.
This year’s 7th edition of the Bahrain International Airshow is held under the esteemed patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister and under the supervision of HH Sheikh Abdulla Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King & Chairman of BIAS Supreme Organising Committee.
