Saudi Interior Minister and Bahraini Counterpart Inspect Key Upgrades at King Fahad Causeway

In a significant visit on Thursday, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Minister of Interior, accompanied by His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Interior Minister, toured the King Fahad Causeway linking Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Their visit focused on ongoing improvements aimed at streamlining cross-border travel between the two nations.
Upon arrival, the ministers were greeted by His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province; His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Abanmi, Governor of the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority, and Chairman of the King Fahad Causeway Authority; and His Excellency Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain’s Customs and Deputy Chairman of the King Fahad Causeway Authority.
The inspection covered several projects initiated by the King Fahad Causeway Authority, including the expansion of processing areas and capacity enhancements to reduce congestion and improve the experience for travelers. The upgrades align with the goals of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council, chaired by Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
A detailed briefing highlighted the upgraded passenger lounge dedicated to public transport users and the new pre-paid toll lanes, which now cut down wait times at toll gates to an impressive 15 seconds or less.
The Saudi Interior Minister and his Bahraini counterpart also visited the Special Security Force Command. During this visit, Chief of Public Security Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan provided an overview of strategic security initiatives focused on enhancing operational efficiency, law enforcement, and maintaining public order.
