Action-Packed Racing Weekend as 8 Hours of Bahrain Roars to Life

The Spirit of Le Mans has returned to the Kingdom of Bahrain for a weekend filled with global endurance racing and world-class entertainment. The 8 Hours of Bahrain, powered by Bapco Energies, marks the thrilling finale of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), taking place today at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC).

As fans eagerly gathered at BIC, the final practice sessions and qualifying rounds took place yesterday, setting the stage for the highly anticipated qualifying sessions in the LMGT3 and Hypercar categories.

This year’s finale marks the 13th time the WEC has brought its high-octane show to the island and the sixth edition of the race in its current eight-hour format – the only event of its kind on the WEC calendar.

But the excitement isn’t limited to the track. The Bahrain International Circuit has lined up an array of activities to keep fans entertained throughout the weekend. From the Open Paddock experience, where fans can meet their favorite drivers up close, to exciting off-track attractions, there’s something for everyone.

The fan zone promises an unforgettable experience with the return of the Giant Ferris Wheel, racing simulators, and reaction games used by professional drivers. A classic car show will also captivate auto enthusiasts, while the Space Jam Experience, featuring Bugs Bunnyand Lola Bunny, is sure to be a hit with children.

Additionally, carnival rides, bumper cars, and a lineup of roaming street performers, jugglers, stilt-walkers, and live music will ensure the family fun.  

Today doors open at 10.00am and the fan zone opens until 10.30pm. 

What makes this weekend even more special is the circuit’s commitment to the environment. Every ticket sold supports the Green Ticket Initiative, contributing to Bahrain's national goal of quadrupling mangrove coverage by 2035.
