HM King Hamad Issues Decree Announcing Cabinet Reshuffle

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has issued Decree (89) of 2024, announcing significant changes to the cabinet. The reshuffle, proposed by the Prime Minister, introduces new appointments to key ministries.
Article 1: Ministers Retiring
The decree confirms the retirement of two prominent ministers:
Mohammed bin Thamer Al Kaabi, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications.
Osama bin Ahmed Al Asfoor, Minister of Social Development.
Both ministers have been recognized for their contributions to Bahrain’s government, having served their respective roles with dedication.
Article 2: New Appointments
The decree further outlines the appointment of new ministers to take on leadership roles within the government:
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa has been appointed as the new Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications.
Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi has been named the new Minister of Social Development.
These appointments are expected to bring a fresh perspective and energy to their respective ministries, supporting Bahrain’s continued development in key sectors.
Article 3: Implementation
The Prime Minister has been tasked with implementing the provisions of this decree, which takes effect immediately upon issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
