The General Directorate of Traffic has reported a total of 768 traffic violations by heavy vehicles during the month of October, highlighting ongoing concerns over road safety and compliance with traffic regulations.
Key Violations
Among the most frequent offenses were:
Driving during peak hours: Heavy vehicles were found violating the designated time restrictions, causing increased traffic congestion during busy periods.
Exceeding speed limits: Several drivers were caught operating heavy trucks at speeds beyond the legal limit, posing a serious risk to road safety.
Improper overtaking: Wrongful overtaking by large trucks was another common infraction, endangering other motorists on the road.
The report also indicated violations related to non-compliance with safety standards, including:
Faulty and disintegrated tires: Trucks were discovered operating on highways with tires that were either misaligned or deteriorating, increasing the risk of accidents.
