IWF Officials Arrive in Bahrain to Finalize Preparations for World Weightlifting Championships

The event will be held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty The King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports—a mark of the importance the kingdom places on hosting a successful international competition.

Leading the IWF delegation is CEO Achilleas Tsogas, accompanied by key figures such as Matyas Lencser, Director of Competitions; Timea Horvath, Director of Development and Education; and Pedro Meloni, Technical Advisor for Competitions. Their mission: to assess Bahrain’s readiness to host the sport’s elite athletes and deliver a seamless experience for both competitors and fans.
