Bahrain Prepares for National Day Celebrations with the December Festival

As Bahrain readies to celebrate National Day, the December Festival promises a spectacular lineup of events for all ages. Marking the 1783 founding of the modern Bahraini state by Ahmed Al Fateh and commemorating His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Accession, this year’s festival transforms Bahrain into a vibrant center of culture, sports, shopping, and adventure for citizens, residents, and visitors alike.

Muharraq Nights

From December 5th to 30th, historic Muharraq will host ‘Muharraq Nights’ along the UNESCO-listed Pearling Path. This cultural experience will showcase Bahrain’s rich heritage through traditional music, dance, and crafts, giving visitors a unique journey through Muharraq’s storied past.

World Weightlifting Championship

Adding an international sporting touch, Bahrain will host the World Weightlifting Championship at Bahrain Bay from December 4th to 15th. Athletes from across the globe will compete, placing Bahrain in the international spotlight.

Farmers’ Market

Every Saturday starting December 7th, Al Budaiya Botanical Garden will come alive as families gather to shop for fresh, locally-grown produce at the Farmers’ Market. This setting blends nature with community, creating a lively atmosphere filled with fresh goods.

Concerts and Performances

This year’s concerts promise something for everyone. On December 5th, BUDX will kick off the musical festivities at Exhibition World Bahrain, followed by a much-anticipated performance by Eminem at Al Dana Amphitheatre on December 10th. Local stars Khalid Al Shaikh, Hind, Mohammed Al Bakri, and Samawa Al Shaikh will perform at ‘Bahraini Night’ on December 15th. Majid Al Mohandes is set to light up the stage on December 26th, and Lionel Richie will close the season on December 28th at Exhibition World Bahrain.

Fireworks Displays

Spectacular fireworks will light up Bahrain’s skies on National Day, December 16th, with a second display on December 31st in Bahrain Bay to ring in the New Year.

Sports Highlights

Sports fans have plenty to look forward to, with the BRAVE CF Mixed Martial Arts event at Exhibition World Bahrain from December 12th to 14th and the National Day Cup at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club on December 13th.
