A 40-year-old man has been sentenced to three years in prison and had forged documents confiscated by the High Appeals Court. The man was found guilty of selling a Bahraini woman’s Lexus car (model 2007) without her knowledge or consent.

The case details reveal that the victim’s father had agreed to sell the car to the defendant for BD2,500, paying a BD200 deposit for repairs before the transfer of ownership. The defendant was given the car’s ownership documents and the victim’s ID card. However, the father later discovered that the defendant had transferred ownership without his daughter’s knowledge or consent.

A witness, a car dealer, testified that he had dealt with the defendant several times before realising he was a fraudster. The defendant had contacted him about selling the car, claiming it belonged to a family member. After inspecting the vehicle, the witness agreed to purchase it and paid the defendant the agreed-upon price.

The defendant provided the car’s ownership documents, the victim’s ID card, and a completed transfer of ownership form with a forged signature in the owner’s section.
