Weekly Cabinet Meeting Chaired by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa at Gudaibiya Palace

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Deputy King, today chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace, addressing key national and international matters.

The Cabinet reaffirmed the significance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s recent visit to the United Kingdom, which was made at the invitation of King Charles III. The visit was hailed as a milestone in strengthening the historic Bahrain-UK relationship and the multifaceted partnership between the two nations.

The Cabinet also welcomed the newly appointed ministers following a Royal Decree issued by His Majesty the King. The meeting extended best wishes for success to His Highness Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the new Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, and His Excellency Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, the Minister of Social Development.

Additionally, the Cabinet commended the positive outcomes of the official visit by the Prime Minister of Montenegro, His Excellency Milojko Spajić, noting its importance in enhancing bilateral cooperation and advancing shared objectives between Bahrain and Montenegro.

In line with Bahrain’s dedication to youth empowerment, the Cabinet welcomed the launch of the global youth support initiative “Hope Network.” The initiative, which aligns with His Majesty King Hamad’s vision for youth development, was spearheaded by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports. This initiative aims to further engage and empower the Kingdom’s youth.

The Cabinet celebrated Bahrain’s national volleyball team for their recent victory at the 23rd Arab Men’s Volleyball Championship, hosted in Bahrain. The victory was acknowledged as a significant addition to the Kingdom's growing list of sports achievements.

Furthermore, the Cabinet extended its best wishes for the success of the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The summit is expected to bolster Arab solidarity and strengthen the unified stance of Arab nations regarding regional developments.

In international matters, the Cabinet congratulated the U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on his electoral victory, noting the importance of the longstanding Bahrain-U.S. relationship, which spans over 120 years.

The Cabinet also reviewed and approved several key memorandums, including:

A memorandum by the Government Executive Committee to enhance drug management and availability.
A memorandum from the Civil Service Council focused on restructuring various government agencies to improve efficiency.
A memorandum from the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the Jeddah Document of the Global High-Level Ministerial Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance.
A memorandum of understanding between the Supreme Council for Health and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
A report submitted by the Education and Training Quality Authority regarding the approval of its latest findings.
The government's response to proposals and a law submitted by the Council of Representatives.
Lastly, the Cabinet discussed ministerial reports, including the outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the 25th meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee and the official visit of the Minister of Industry and Commerce to the United Arab Emirates.

This meeting highlighted Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international relations, improve governance, and foster the development of its youth and sporting sectors.
