The Bahrain Olympic Committee's Gender Equality in Sports Committee has announced the launch of the “I Am Talented” program, an initiative that recently won the Gulf Women’s Sports Hackathon award in Oman. Supported by Olympic Solidarity, this program aims to uncover talent across genders in a variety of sports, furthering the Committee's mission of developing champions.

Expressing her gratitude, Dr. Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Board Member of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Chair of the Gender Equality in Sports Committee, extended heartfelt thanks to H.H. Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, for his pivotal support in realizing this ambitious project.

The “I Am Talented” program focuses on identifying promising talent across both individual and team sports. Selected athletes will participate in year-round training programs, coordinated with sports federations and clubs, to build their physical and technical abilities. The program also includes regular evaluations with relevant sports organizations to track athletes’ progress and readiness, aiming to bring the vision of developing Bahrain's next Olympic champions to life.

Targeting young athletes ages 6-14, the program covers seven sports: three individual disciplines—fencing, sailing, and karate—and four team sports—football, volleyball, handball, and basketball. The Committee hopes this initiative will nurture new talent, enriching Bahrain’s national teams with fresh potential.
