The High Criminal Court has sentenced an Asian man to 10 years imprisonment for forcing two Asian women into prostitution and sexually assaulting one of them. The court’s decision followed the man’s confession and the discovery of a ledger detailing his earnings from the women's forced prostitution. Each victim had a dedicated page in the ledger, meticulously documenting client encounters.
A report from an Asian embassy in Bahrain initiated the investigation, alleging that a woman was being held captive in a Juffair apartment and forced into prostitution. Responding swiftly, Bahraini police apprehended the suspect and rescued not only the initial victim but also a second woman held under similar circumstances.
According to the victims' testimony, the defendant not only forced them into encounters with clients but also sexually assaulted one of them after drugging her drink. He confiscated their phones, preventing them from contacting anyone outside the apartment. It was only after one of the victims managed to contact her embassy that the authorities were alerted to the situation.
Police investigations corroborated the victims' accounts, confirming the defendant's coercion and his systematic collection of a portion of the women’s earnings. The defendant threatened the women with violence if they refused to comply.
