Indian Ambassador highlights Sarang helicopter team’s role in strengthening India-Bahrain ties at airshow

India’s presence at the Bahrain International Airshow 2024 has added a distinct element of cultural diplomacy and technical prowess as the country showcases its indigenous Sarang Helicopter Display Team.
Speaking to The Daily Tribune at the event, His Excellency Mr. Vinod K. Jacob, Ambassador of India to Bahrain, extended his congratulations to the Kingdom of Bahrain on the successful organization of the airshow and expressed India’s pride in participating. “We are very happy to participate in the Bahrain International Airshow 2024,” he said, applauding the Kingdom’s efforts in hosting the prominent event.
The Sarang team, created in 2002, stands as a symbol of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, with its helicopters indigenously designed and built. Known for its role in humanitarian and disaster relief efforts, Sarang represents India’s commitment to combining military capability with humanitarian outreach.
During the airshow, the team is scheduled to perform daily, including a feature display at 3:30 pm, captivating audiences with their precision and skill.
Ambassador Jacob also highlighted the team’s engagement with the Indian community in Bahrain, noting that their presence is part of a broader mission to foster friendship between India and Bahrain.
“We think that this will strengthen the excellent relationship between India and Bahrain,” he remarked, emphasizing that Sarang’s participation underscores India’s dedication to deepening ties with Bahrain and promoting a shared spirit of cooperation and goodwill.
