Bahrain and UK Reaffirm Strategic Defence Partnership

In a signal of Bahrain’s commitment to deepening its defence alliances, His Highness Staff Commander Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa met with the British Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa, Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren, today at Riffa Palace.
The high-level dialogue underscored Bahrain and the United Kingdom’s enduring strategic partnership, rooted in decades of collaboration across military and defence sectors.
During their meeting, HH Shaikh Isa emphasized Bahrain’s dedication to fortifying ties with the UK, seeking alignment on shared security goals amid a complex and evolving regional landscape. Welcoming Vice Admiral Ahlgren to the Kingdom, HH Shaikh Isa spoke to the importance of advancing military cooperation and knowledge exchange between the two nations, reinforcing Bahrain’s readiness to work closely with its allies in pursuit of stability.
The conversation extended to mutual interests and current regional and global developments, with Shaikh Isa commending the UK’s influential role in promoting security in the Gulf and beyond. Vice Admiral Ahlgren’s visit reflects a continued commitment by both nations to bolster defence cooperation, highlighting the UK’s longstanding position as a key ally in safeguarding peace alongside Bahrain and other allied states in the region.
