The prestigious global travel magazine, Condé Nast Traveller, has ranked the Pearling Path in the Kingdom of Bahrain as the top walking tour site in the Middle East.
This recognition comes after the path’s development was completed earlier this year. The path enhances Manama’s historic alleyways with a blend of restored historic buildings and contemporary structures.
The 3.5-kilometre Pearling Path, which holds UNESCO World Heritage status, weaves through the historic heart of Bahrain and showcases the nation’s rich pearling legacy.
Condé Nast Traveler states, “This trail tells the story of the heyday of Bahrain’s pearling heritage, offering an exciting glimpse into the lavish residences of former merchants, as well as the challenges pearl divers faced during their months-long labour at sea.” This accolade underlines Bahrain’s commitment to preserving its cultural heritage while integrating modern enhancements.
