FEI Honors HH Shaikh Nasser for Groundbreaking Achievements in Endurance Racing

The International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) has bestowed a prestigious honor on His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and the leader of Bahrain’s Royal Endurance Team. He was recognized as the only Arab rider to achieve unprecedented global recognition in international endurance racing.

This accolade celebrates HH Shaikh Nasser’s remarkable back-to-back victories in the World Endurance Championships, with the most recent win in Monpazier, France, in September 2024. He completed a challenging 160 km race. Additionally, His Highness was crowned World Champion again in 2022 in Boudheib, UAE, cementing his place in the annals of the sport.
The FEI’s recognition also honors HH Shaikh Nasser’s continuous achievements and significant contributions to the development of endurance riding, a discipline that combines stamina, strategy, and skill.

The award ceremony took place during the FEI General Assembly held in Abu Dhabi, where His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Ambassador to the UAE and Vice Honorary President of the FEI, received the honor on behalf of HH Shaikh Nasser from FEI President Mr. Ingmar De Vos.

In his remarks, HH Shaikh Nasser expressed his sincere gratitude to the FEI for this recognition, which he views as a source of motivation to continue excelling in the sport. He praised the FEI’s thoughtful gesture, emphasizing its role in encouraging and inspiring endurance riders globally.
The Bahraini leader also extended his heartfelt appreciation to the UAE Equestrian Federation, led by Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, as well as to Sultan Al Yahyai, President of Group VII of the FEI, for their continuous support and contributions to the sport’s growth.

This recognition further solidifies HH Shaikh Nasser’s status as a leading figure in the world of endurance riding, showcasing Bahrain’s commitment to excellence and its growing presence in international equestrian sports.
