Focus on Excellence as Bahrain Hosts Prestigious Event
Preparations are in full swing for the World Weightlifting Championships, set to take place in Bahrain from December 4 to 15, 2024, under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Spearheading these efforts is the Equipment Committee, which has made significant strides to ensure the event meets the highest international standards.
Maryam Mahmoud, head of the Equipment Committee, highlighted the team's swift action since its formation. The committee, comprised of highly qualified members with extensive experience, is tasked with overseeing all technical aspects, including equipment setup, competition platforms, and warm-up areas.
"Our focus is on delivering an event that reflects the standards of the International Weightlifting Federation and the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation," Mahmoud stated. She added that strong support from Eshaq Ebrahim Eshaq, president of the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation, has been instrumental in driving progress.
Ensuring Safety and Precision
A key priority for the committee is ensuring that all equipment complies with international safety standards. Rigorous inspections will begin well ahead of the championship, with daily evaluations planned to maintain readiness throughout the event.
The team is also coordinating stage design, lighting, and acoustics to enhance the competition atmosphere. Beyond the competition itself, logistical efforts include a daily schedule to facilitate smooth operations and collaboration with other committees.
Aiming for a World-Class Event
"The committee is committed to delivering an exceptional championship that showcases the skills of world-class athletes," Mahmoud said. Preparations include technical inspections, logistics for post-competition cleanup, and ensuring resources are available to all involved.
With Bahrain set to host this global spectacle, the Equipment Committee is leaving no stone unturned to uphold the nation's reputation for excellence on the international stage.
