Over 200 Women Trained Since August

The Bahrain Tennis Federation Women’s Committee has achieved a significant milestone, training over 200 women in tennis skills since the program's launch in August. Jamila Al-Nashaba, Chairwoman of the Women’s Committee, announced this remarkable accomplishment, emphasizing the steady growth of the initiative. The current training session, the fourth of its kind, includes 10 groups and over 66 trainees at various skill levels.

Diverse Participation from Bahrain and Beyond

The program began with participants from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the Philippines. Today, it boasts representation from a diverse range of nationalities, including Iraq, Tunisia, Algeria, Russia, Italy, and India. The sessions are conducted at the Isa Town Tennis Federation courts during evening hours, underscoring the federation's commitment to accessibility and inclusivity.

Fitness and Beyond: Expanding Opportunities for Women

Fatima Fakhro, a committee member, highlighted the ongoing registration for the women’s fitness program, designed to improve physical health and promote weight loss. Led by fitness expert Bassam Khairi, the program incorporates innovative techniques to boost fitness levels and body toning.

Fakhro also noted that registration for the current tennis training program is now closed. The committee is preparing for a special doubles competition scheduled for November 29, tailored to different skill levels. The event aligns with Bahrain Women’s Day celebrations, reflecting the committee's commitment to fostering a supportive environment for women’s sports.

A Vision for Women’s Health and Empowerment

Al-Nashaba expressed gratitude to Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Tennis Federation, and the Board of Directors for their unwavering support in providing resources, evening court access, and dedicated coaches for the program. She emphasized the committee's mission to promote healthy lifestyles and empower women through sports, particularly by teaching tennis skills.

This initiative is part of the committee’s 2024 strategic plan, aiming to enhance women’s health and well-being through innovative sports programs. For more information on the upcoming activities, interested participants can contact 39655619.
