Fil-Am group holds sports fest

The President and Commissioner’s Sports fest 2024 was held on November 15, 2024, at Bahrain Club, located on Airport Avenue in Muharraq. Organised by the Filipino American Association of Bahrain, this year’s event has a special significance in honor and tribute to the dedicated service and contributions of the past presidents, the current president, and the commissioner of the organization that nurtured growth in the group with a strong impact in the community, as well as the spirit of camaraderie among Filipinos in Bahrain.

“We are excited to celebrate our past and present leaders through this friendly competition that brings together the Filipino American community in the celebration of dedication and hard work,” Orlando Fontanilla, Fil Am president, explained enthusiastically. “More than winning the games, the event is about celebrating together our commitment to the community and memories that shall be cherished,” he stated.

The Fil-Am Bahrain stands as a beacon for cultural diversity and civic engagement inside the expatriate community. A non-profit and voluntary organization, it tries to bring together Filipino-Americans and other Filipinos in Bahrain. It tries to create an atmosphere wherein their cultural heritage is not only expressed but shared.

It should work to instill a sense of belonging and solidarity in its members through various activities of social work in different programs, so as to engage its members in more active work within both the local community and the expatriate communities
