Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’, announced today that it has signed a new long-term partnership with the Autosport Awards – one of global motorsport’s most prestigious annual awards ceremonies. The new agreement continues a long relationship between BIC and Autosport Awards.
As part of the new agreement, BIC will be sponsoring the Moment of the Year award, which recognises a particular highlight in the racing calendar across all racing series that is seen as the standout moment of the year.
The Autosport Awards are presented yearly by leading motor racing magazine Autosport, part of Motorsport Network. Next year will mark the 75th anniversaries of both Autosport and the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, making for an extra-special Autosport Awards ceremony scheduled to take place on 29 January in London, England.
BIC Chief Executive Sheikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa commented:
“As a circuit which hosts the very best global motorsport events, we aim to help create long-lasting memories for fans. It is therefore a natural fit for us to support Autosport’s Moment of the Year, an award that celebrates those special memories. We look forward to celebrating the winners in January.”
Past winners of the Moment of the Year award include the victory of the Ferrari AF Corse Hypercar team at the Centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship, as well as the maiden F1 victory of Mercedes superstar George Russell at the F1 Brazilian Grand Prix 2022.
At the annual Autosport Awards, various accolades are presented to drivers, cars, teams and promoters who stood out during the previous racing season. The Awards will welcome racing stars, celebrities and fans for a glamorous evening in celebration of the motorsport industry.
