His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, inaugurated the first project under Bahrain’s newly developed vertical housing model yesterday, marking a transformative milestone in the Kingdom’s approach to social housing.
The innovative project in Salman City blends modern design with citizen-focused solutions, setting a benchmark for future housing developments. Basim Yacob Al Hamer, President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau, and H.E. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, attended the event, highlighting the significance of this milestone in advancing Bahrain’s vision for housing and urban development.
Royal Support
H.E. Shaikh Khalid credited the unwavering backing of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the continuous guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for Bahrain’s progress in social housing.
He highlighted the importance of these efforts in accelerating housing services and ensuring that suitable homes are delivered promptly to citizens. The Deputy Prime Minister praised the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning for their implementation of this advanced project.
He noted its innovative design, efficient use of space, and commitment to enhancing residents’ quality of life. The apartments are equipped with modern facilities and integrated services, making the development a distinguished model in vertical housing.
H.E. Shaikh Khalid extended his gratitude to the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, which financed the BD132 million project as part of the Gulf Development Programme. This collaboration highlights the importance of regional partnerships in supporting Bahrain’s ambitious housing goals.
Quality Living
Located on Island 12 in Salman City, the project includes 1,362 residential apartments designed to meet the specific needs of Bahraini families.
The designs were informed by social studies and surveys conducted by the ministry, ensuring alignment with contemporary living standards and citizen expectations. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning will conduct follow-up surveys after apartment allocations.
