Filipino participants of a seven-week dressmaking training program praised the initiative for equipping them with valuable skills that promise to open doors to employment and entrepreneurship. The program was organised by Pinay IKaw Na (PIN) in collaboration with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Bahrain.

The graduation ceremony, held on November 8, 2026, at Arman Hotel, Juffair, celebrated the achievements of trainees who hailed the initiative as transformative. Among them, Gina N. Langga, a 54-year-old housemaid from Tacoron, Sultan Kudarat, expressed heartfelt gratitude to OWWA and the Philippine government for the opportunity.

A resident of Bahrain for 28 years, Langga emphasised that the program not only provided her with dressmaking skills but also instilled a renewed sense of self-worth and purpose. She shared how the training empowered her to contribute meaningfully to her family and community, envisioning future opportunities for entrepreneurship and financial security.

Miriam Guese, an officer of PIN, highlighted the collaborative and interactive nature of the training, noting how participants worked together to hone their craft. The initiative reflects the organisers’ commitment to empowering overseas Filipinos with practical skills.
