The Sharia Court has ruled in favour of a father who was sued by his ex-wife for failing to pay private school fees for their children.
The father, a low-income em ployee, had repeatedly requested that the children be transferred to public schools due to his mounting debt. However, the mother refused and pursued legal action.

According to lawyer Zahra Hussain, the mother’s lawsuit demanded the father pay out standing school fees and expenses. The mother had received numerous calls from the schools threatening to withhold the children’s report cards if the fees remained unpaid.

This prompted her to file the lawsuit. In court, the father testified that he had pleaded with his ex wife to enroll their children in public schools, citing his limited income and substantial debt ac cumulated from paying private school fees and transportation costs. He stated he had borrowed money to cover these expenses and had even applied for financial assistance without success.
