Ethiopian Consulate in Bahrain Celebrates Prosperity Party’s 5th Anniversary of Peoples' Day

The Ethiopian Consulate General in Bahrain hosted a vibrant celebration marking the 5th anniversary of the Prosperity Party and the 19th Ethiopian Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Day. The event, held under the theme “National Consciousness for National Unity,” highlighted Ethiopia’s rich cultural heritage, achievements, and aspirations.

The occasion commenced with an address by H.E. Ambassador Shiferaw Geneti, Consul General of Ethiopia in Bahrain. Ambassador Shiferaw emphasized the importance of the National Day, urging Ethiopian nationals to bolster unity and collaboration, especially during a transformative period of economic reforms in the country. He underscored the significance of inclusive federalism and the role of collective national consciousness in achieving sustained national unity.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Said Ahmed, Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Kuwait, graced the event as the guest of honor and delivered a goodwill message, further emphasizing Ethiopia’s progress and aspirations on the global stage.

The celebration highlighted Ethiopia’s remarkable achievements over the past five years, particularly in tourism, manufacturing, agriculture, and economic reforms. Notable accomplishments included advancements in Addis Ababa's infrastructure and urban development, which have positively impacted other cities across the country. These efforts have not only enhanced Ethiopia’s economic standing but also preserved its rich cultural and historical legacy.

The Consulate General extended its gratitude to contributors supporting Ethiopia's development, presenting certificates of appreciation to honor their efforts.

Attendees were treated to a showcase of Ethiopia’s vibrant cultural heritage through traditional attire, cuisine, music, dance, poetry, and cultural performances. The event fostered mutual understanding and cultural exchange, reflecting Ethiopia’s unity in diversity and its enduring solidarity.

The Consulate General affirmed its commitment to promoting Ethiopia’s achievements and strengthening ties between Ethiopian nationals in Bahrain and their homeland. The event served as a testament to Ethiopia's progress and the harmonious coexistence of its diverse peoples.
