Bahrain and UAE Hold Joint Ministerial Committee Meeting

A pivotal meeting of the Joint Ministerial Committee between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was convened today. The session was co-chaired by Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, and UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the deep-rooted ties between the two nations, lauding the leadership of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He highlighted that the unwavering support of both leaders has propelled efforts to strengthen strategic relations and diversify areas of bilateral cooperation.

Focus on Strategic Partnerships

Sheikh Abdullah reiterated the UAE's commitment to its partnership with Bahrain, describing it as a cornerstone of Gulf Cooperation and regional progress. He noted the importance of the committee's periodic meetings in fostering collaboration, addressing challenges, and exploring innovative solutions across various sectors.

Dr. Al Zayani echoed similar sentiments, expressing pride in the exemplary diplomatic ties that unite the two nations. He praised the UAE's diplomatic leadership, its role in global stability, and its commitment to Arab solidarity.

Areas of Cooperation Discussed

The discussions spanned a range of sectors, including:

  • Political and diplomatic collaboration.
  • Economic, trade, and industrial investments.
  • Renewable energy, transportation, and infrastructure development.

Both sides reviewed progress in these areas and signed multiple agreements to enhance cooperation:

  1. Civil Aviation Cooperation: A memorandum to strengthen ties in aviation.
  2. Tourism Collaboration: An executive program for promoting tourism.
  3. Government Capacity Building: A memorandum on training government personnel.
 4. Financial and Economic Policies: Agreements on sharing expertise in financial and economic strategies.
  5. Competitiveness Enhancement: Cooperation to bolster competitiveness and statistical data exchange.

The committee reaffirmed its commitment to expanding the strategic partnership, reflecting a shared vision for prosperity and stability in the region. Both nations pledged to work together on innovative initiatives that serve the interests of their peoples and contribute to regional development.

The meeting concluded with the signing of the joint committee's resolutions, underscoring the determination of Bahrain and the UAE to build on their historical ties and create a future of shared progress.
